Here’s our Q4 2021 update:
Since the pandemic, 43% of internet users are spending more time on social media. As one example, Instagram saw 43% growth in traffic last year and today has over 1.2 billion users.
From Avant Healthcare:
90% of physicians use social media for personal reasons
65% of physicians use social media for professional reasons; most popular sites are Twitter and YouTube
From Digital Health Coalition:
100% of HCPs are open to industry and/or product messages on social media
87% of HCPs have taken an action after viewing social media content
76% of pharma companies plan to spend more on social media content for HCPs this year
Regarding medical information, 64% of millennials believe social media is effective for medical information requests and 52% use social media for information requests with non-pharma companies.

Social media is relational, meaning it’s give and take. Users don’t want to feel like they’re being sold to every time they interact with your brand.
